ABOUT US

Chances are, you’ve seen our heart thumbprint cookies filled with fruit filling while standing in line for coffee.

Little did you know, those items from Idahome Bakery are all gluten-free, and still make for the perfect treat.

We have been providing nutritious, yet delicious, gluten-free food to the Boise Valley for just over a year.

As we celebrate our first year, I, Telara Oliver and my mom, Janice Toledo are humbled by the positive feedback.

For me, it all started with Stanley Baking Company, a local bakery in Stanley, Idaho where I spent my childhood summers. There, I began learning how to bake, and would eventually make it a lifelong passion.

The inspiration for Idahome Bakery started while working at the Alpine Pantry in McCall. The Pantry was the first places I baked that commercially sold gluten-free products, which was essential to me after discovering that I'm intolerant to both dairy and wheat.

It really opened my eyes to the potential of creating gluten-free food that’s delicious, moist and not sticky-sweet or hockey puck hard.

Baking there, as well as applying for the Alpine Pantry's wholesale license really inspired me to create my own business.

At Idahome

we strive to use local ingredients and products, to create our unique goods, such as eggs from Morning Owl Farm, RBST free Dairy, and many organic ingredients.

It's been fun to experiment with some new things like ice cream and cupcakes topped with a delicious Blackberry Boom buttercream frosting.

I like experimenting and collaborating with other businesses, I try to keep it as local as possible.

Some of what makes Idahome Bakery stand out is our unique flavor combinations, such as the rosehip thumbprint cookie, or the raspberry lemon muffins.

Our favorite thing on the menu are the Sawtooth muffins, which are loaded with flax, coconut, cranberry, golden raisin, apple, and carrot.

As for a retail location, there won’t be one in the works soon. Instead, our focus is to have our own commercial kitchen, and source more of our ingredients locally.

It’s exciting that Boise is so food-forward and that it’s progressive in the way companies are adjusting to using local products and helping support other businesses in the valley, I really look forward to more of that with the bakery.

Idahome Bakery can be seen as my love note to Idaho. When recently asked where the name originated from, the answer was simple,

Idaho is my home.

Whether you, grew up, or fell in love with Idaho, it’s about appreciating the place you live, and I really love that so many people who have moved here are influencing change in a really positive way. I want the name to be inclusive and not exclusive, I want it to touch people’s hearts who love this wild state.

You can find Idahome Bakery treats at Hyde Perk Coffee House, Hyde House, Dawson Taylor Coffee, Java, Push And Pour, Lemon Tree, Txikiteo, and Coffee Mill.
